Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine, usually noticed in adolescence. At Sone Wellbeing Unit in Beylikdüzü, Istanbul, after a medical diagnosis, a physiotherapist delivers a curve-specific exercise programme (Schroth-based); the aim is to slow progression and protect posture and function.

Curve type and degree are taken from the doctor's report; three-dimensional corrective exercises, breathing and posture education are taught, compatible with bracing when used.
The aim is to slow progression and protect function; reduction in degrees is not always expected. Goals are set with the doctor.
