Psychotherapy
Anxiety is a persistent state of worry and tension; a panic attack is a sudden surge of intense fear with palpitations, shortness of breath and a sense of losing control. At Sone Wellbeing Unit in Beylikdüzü, Istanbul, anxiety and panic are assessed by a clinical psychologist and addressed with cognitive behavioural therapy; medication decisions rest with a psychiatrist.

The anxiety cycle (triggers, thoughts, body sensations, avoidance) is mapped; breathing and grounding skills are taught and feared situations are approached gradually.
Chronic muscle tension and tension headaches can be eased with a relaxation and exercise programme.
Caffeine, irregular meals and blood-sugar swings can amplify anxiety symptoms; a dietitian can help stabilise them.
Panic attacks feel frightening but are not physically harmful. A first medical check-up rules out other causes; therapy then targets the fear of the attacks themselves.
Structured programmes usually run 8–16 sessions, weekly, 50 minutes each.
